Powel is former CEO and co-founder of Situs (now SitusAMC), which under his leadership grew CRE assets under management from $3 billion to $175 billion. He was the chief architect of the firm’s growth strategy, leading sales and marketing functions. In ’04, Mr. Powel led the firm’s expansion into Western Europe and Asia and in ’16 led the firm’s diversification into the residential mortgage market. Over the past decade SitusAMC acquired more than 20 financial services companies in the U.S. and Europe, becoming the largest solutions provider in the space.
In addition to serving as a Senior Advisor to Gate House Strategies, Powel has held several prominent advisory roles, including Vice Chairman of MISMO’s Board of Directors, SitusAMC’s Board of Directors. Additionally, he has served as an advisor to Foundation CREF, Avanti Way Group, and Multihousing Partners, and is Chief Executive Officer of Point North Capital, LLC, a family office company. He also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Key Biscayne Police Officer & Firefighters Pension Board. Steve is also currently Executive Vice President and Head of Strategy at NuBridge, where he oversees its commercial lending division.
